SWRA INFORMATION

The SWRA would like to welcome visitors to our site.  We are diligently trying to improve not only recreational opportunities for our citizens but communications to those participants and parents as well.  If you have comments or suggestions that you would like to share with the Board of Directors please email them to Steve Owen at desototreatedmaterials@datasync.com. 

I would also like to take this opportunity to introduce the SWRA Board of Directors.  District One, President and Basketball Rep–Steve Owen; District Two, Vice-President–Brad Alexander; District Three, Britt Parker; District Four, Secretary– Tim Adams; District Five, Softball Rep– George Cospelich; City One, Football Rep– Kevin Kostmayer; City Two, Treasurer and Soccer Rep–Keith Kennedy; City Three, Baseball Rep–Hope Ladnier.

The Board of Directors meet on the second Monday of every month (unless otherwise publisized at this site) at the Old Depot located at East Hatten and First St. in Wiggins at 6:00 pm.  The next scheduled meeting will be on February, 13, 2012.  The public is welcome to attend.  Anyone wishing to address the Board of Directors are asked to contact our recreation office so that we may put it on the agenda.

Our programs are primarily comprised of volunteers.  Anyone interested in volunteering in any of our programs are greatly appreciated.  Below are some of the criteria required to serve.

Registration Fee – $60.00 per child

Our next Board Meeting will be Thursday, February 2nd - 6:00pm @ the EDP.

Opening Weekend Friday, March 30th and Saturday March, 31th

New Sod was put down on the infield of Field #4.  This field will be closed until the Spring of 2012.  If you see any activity on this field, please respectively ask them to use another field.

SWRA – Softball

Softball Board: Current board members are; President Jody Hatten (601)-528-0532, Vice President Janet Spiers, Treasurer Brandon Cobb, Secretary Shane Breland, Kreg Overstreet, Melinie Myers.

 

Our regular monthly Board meeting is the first monday of the month at 6:30 pm at the softball concession stand. It is open to the public. If you want to volunteer please let us know.

 

2012 Registration

The Stone-Wiggins Recreation Association Girls Softball will be having registration for Girls Softball every Saturday starting on January 28 through February 25 at Hood Fields from 9am to 12 noon.  You will also be able to register on Thursday February 16th and Tuesday February 21 from 6pm to 8pm at Hood Fields.  Registration will be for Girls Softball T-Ball ages 5 and 6, Girls Coach Pitch Softball age 8 and under, and Girls Fast Pitch age groups 10 and under, 12 and under, and 16 and under.  Registration costs are $50 per child.  For more information contact us at StoneWigginsRec.org or on Facebook.com Stone Wiggins Recreation Association Softball.
