SWRA INFORMATION

The SWRA would like to welcome visitors to our site.  We are diligently trying to improve not only recreational opportunities for our citizens but communications to those participants and parents as well.  If you have comments or suggestions that you would like to share with the Board of Directors please email them to Steve Owen at desototreatedmaterials@datasync.com. 

I would also like to take this opportunity to introduce the SWRA Board of Directors.  District One, President and Basketball Rep–Steve Owen; District Two, Vice-President–Brad Alexander; District Three, Soccer Rep–Cindy Allison; District Four, Baseball Rep– Tim Adams; District Five, Softball Rep– George Cospelich; City One, Football Rep– Kevin Kostmayer; City Two, Treasurer– Keith Kennedy; City Three, Secretary–Jason Smith.

The Board of Directors meet on the second Monday of every month (unless otherwise publisized at this site) at the Old Depot located at East Hatten and First St. in Wiggins at 6:00 pm.  The next scheduled meeting will be on September 13, 2010.  The public is welcome to attend.  Anyone wishing to address the Board of Directors are asked to contact our recreation office so that we may put it on the agenda.

SWRA Football Organization

The SWYFA Board would like to welcome Bill Cameron.  Bill will be replacing Jerry McGuire.  Jerry and his family moved back to their home town of Magee.  We wish them well. 

We are pleased to have Bill as our newest addition to the SWYFA Board.

Opening Day is scheduled for Saturday, September 18.  We will post the game schedules as soon as we receive them.

Our next scheduled Board meeting is Wednesday, September 8 6:00pm at Hood Fields.

Fall 2010 Soccer Registration

Date: Aug 7th & 14th, 9AM to 12 Pm

Place: Soccer Complex – Project Rd.

Cost:  $50.00 (4th Child and over, same family are free)

Registration forms can be mailed to SWRA-Soccer, PO Box 1412, Wiggins, MS, 39577. Forms must be received Not-Later-Than Aug 20th, 2010.

SWRA – Softball

 The SWRA Softball program will be offering “Fall Ball” for the first time ever!  Registration will be on Saturday, August 14th & 21st from 8:30am to 12:00 noon and Thursday August 19th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Hood Field Softball Concession.  Fees are $25 per participant.  This program will be contingent on participation.  This is a more relaxed schedule.  Emphasis are on training better ball players.  Season will start first of September and run through end of October or first of November.  We will interleague with our same partners.  Below is a registration form for your convienance.  Stay tuned for more information as it unfolds!

SWRA Softball would like to announce our First Annual Adult Co-ed tournament at Hood Fields on August 27th and 28th.  Registration fee will be $150 per team.  We will be playing USSSA rules.  Anyone interested in participating should contact Jody Hatten @ 601-528-0532.  All proceeds will go to improve our facility at Hood Field and our youth softball programs.  Keep checking this website for more information about this tournament.  Hope to see you there!
